Bill of Rights Day (Olympia)

After Action Report: BORD Rally Folded Into G. W. Bush Rally - Sat. Dec. 16th, 2000
By Bob Anderson

Because of the timing of the 2000 Presidential Election results (who knew it drag on for a month?), our last-minute plans for a Bill of Rights Day Rally were canceled in favor of a Rally in Celebration of the Election of G. W. Bush.

The weather was uncooperative last Saturday as we gathered by the Tivoli Fountain in Olympia for the noon rally.

About 35 brave souls stood in a horizontal, freezing rain listening to Floyd Brown praise their efforts in the November elections and basking in the warm thoughts of an administration void of Clinton and Gore, and the lawlessness which accompanied them in the eight long years since the electorate sent the pair to Washington, DC.

There were songs and rain, prayers and rain, wind and rain... and a great sense of relief among the few dozen dedicated, freedom loving Patriots in attendance. There was a pervading feeling of community to the Rally and, despite the rain, a reasonably good time was had by all.

We were all reminded of the need to continue working to defeat Liberalism. The Democrats have promised to make the next four years "a living Hell" for President Bush. Though our RKBA will be more secure than during the Clinton Administration, our struggle is far from over. Let's keep pressuring our elected officials and make sure they know we will hold them accountable for any violations of our Rights.

For Liberty,
